DIY 1/100 Gunpla Stand

This blog has been viewed by 126 visitor(s) I was contemplating getting a Bandai Action stand for my Musha. However, after having a long look at the completed gunpla, I realized that this gunpla looks best 'grounded'. Which means it looks better with standing poses.
This would be a waste since the action base was more suited to gunplas with aerial poses... i.e. the SEED gundams. And these bases don't come cheap either. So I decided to DIY a simple homemade base for my Musha instead.
First, I got one of those disposable chopsticks which comes with my favorite tarpau economy char beehoon.
Next, I found a left over scrap piece of clear acrylic sheet which I used last time for my engineering final year project. The red is basically just a decal stuck to the top surface which I will remove later.
I marked the middle and bored a hole using a hand-cranked drill (no money buy power drill last time).
Then, I stuck the chopstick to the acrylic sheet using some superglue and left to cure for a day.
This was followed by a coat of primer.
The action base I bought for my Aile Strike came with 4 connectors. And this one so happens to fit my Musha. So I recycled it.
I installed this to my stand and sprayed the whole thing gunmetal. Let it dry for another day.
I have some leftover stick on rubber stubs which I use for the dining table chairs.
I installed this to the base of my stand.
Then I applied some leftover decals for my Musha onto the top of the stand for asthetic purposes.
Here's how it looks like after application.
Insert Gunpla.
Put stand on shelf.
Total cost - $0 BANDAI... bite me. leave me a message
