MG MSN-06S Sinanju Ver. Ka - Completo
It took 3 months, many late weeknights, 300 bucks worth of Tamiya paint, 28 bucks for the stand, 20 bucks for the water slide decals and some Mr. Mark Setter; which was sponsored by Ikan (thanks beb). This will be the last MG I work on for this year. Why? Firstly, this MG sapped a huge amount of mojo; I'm exhausted. And secondly, I ran out of display space in my dinky apt... lol. Anyways, here's some pics of the finished product. I dare not play much wiv it coz the paint made the whole thing hella stiff... ouch.

kellefe : Yo bro, good to hear your sinanju is in progress. Pearl white is basically a translucent paint; i.e. it's not a solid color. I'm not sure if you can get a 'rainbow' color effect from pearl white spray cans; the effect I got was more towards a glossy milky look instead. I'm not sure if this is what u want, but this is basically what I got.

yo cmos,
long time no see ~ im still working on sinanju , don laugh me on my slow works. ^^
one question on your el cheapo pearl white on white part

i couldnt really see the effect of the colour.
now im wondering how to get effect to make the surface gloss like pearl which appear to be rainbow colour when it reflect by light

Simon : Er... for that I just spray on a layer of el-cheapo hardware store pearl white.
What about the white tube? are you spray paint it white again? or just spray a finish coat on it?

Kellefe : I handpainted the gold trim after depositing the gold paint from the aerosol can into a small container. For stickers, I used water slide decals as it's much easier to apply than dry transfers.
and for the sticker ,
u using water slide decal or dry transfer decal ?
Its ok cmos~
by the way , how u settle the gold trim on the gold part ?
gundam marker ? spray and mask ?

Kellefe : That's the basic idea. I would say, by the time I got the right shade I wanted, I would have used up around 3 cans, if I didn't make any mistakes. Plus minus a can or so depending on how intense you want the red. It's a personal choice... ;)
oic ..
which mean u used one can per layer right ?
do u mind give me ur msn so that we can discuss it more convenient ? thanks

cmos @ Fri 14-08-09 09:23AM
Kellefe : Ok... here's what I did. I spray on just a single layer of silver. It has good coverage so no problems here. The red is not so straight forward. One layer would give you a pinkish look. 2 layers would give you a mild red. I stopped at a third layer of clear red. A forth layer might be too deep/intense for some. A sinanju may use about 3 cans of clear red. I made a lot of mistakes, so re-spraying took up an extra 2 cans. If you're careful, 3 should be just right.
O...
becoz currently choosing which brand spray can to use and colour .
how many layer of red u spray.
does it used up to 5 can of red ?
can u briefly explain that how many layer for silver , how many layer of red.
can how many can spray used ?
coz now need to budget how many can should go.
thank you for your explanation in advance..

Kellefe : Yeah dude... Clear Red is a translucent/transparent red. Um... nope... I haven't tried Mr. Hobby spray cans... but from what I read at gunpla forums... Mr. Hobby is as good, or even better than Tamiya ;)
oic
is the tamiya Clear Red is transparent red ?
do u try before Mr hobby spray can before ?
compare to tamiya which one preferable ?
cmos @ Wed 12-08-09 09:09AM
Kellefe : Hi. Nope, I did not do a top coat. Basically, it's a single coat of TS-30 Silver Leaf onto the raw plastic, followed by several coats of TS-74 Clear Red with some time to dry in between each coat.
Hi ,
do u do gloss finish ?
example the Mr Hobby Gloss Top Coat ?
And do u do white primer before u spray the clear red ?
